My first real meal...

Here in Chengdu, they are famous for spicy food. If you like spicy food, I think you will like Chengdu...but do you think you can handle it? One of their famous dish is call "Hot Pot", which is literally HOT(both spicy and tempature wise). It's a big pot of soup constantly boiling and you order de-frosted meat or fresh pre-prepaired food and put it in the pot of soup to cook it. Once it's done cooking, you scoop it out to your own bowl to eat it. The soup and spicy oil will put flavor in your food while it's cooking and you can also add extra spice or dressings on the side. There are a whole list of different meat, vegi, tofu, seafood, and a lot more that you can pick which I can't even name.

Sometimes for special occasions my parents will make this hot pot at home and to me, it's one of the best times our family had spent together. I love having hot pot with my family because we're all together cooking and eating out of the same pot!

My Work Place....

I finally got some spare time to update this thing......life has been pretty crazy upside down, but I still thank God for it because He's been there with me through the good and the bad.

Let me continue where I left off....
After I arrived here in Chengdu, it took me awhile to find my contacts Lex and Rosalie that's picking me up. I guess they got there kind of early and saw my flight being delayed so they took a short break and I happened to get there before they came back.... Anywayz, right after I was picked up I came straight to the office.
Here is some pics of it.....it's sad to say...but this place is like 10 times better than my office in the US....

After I got here, the manager here ask me to interview 3 peepz....wow boy was I nervous.....but I think I did pretty good overall. I can't thank God enough!

Foreigners - In it not of it!

04/18/2007 5:00AM Beijing Time

I finally arrived to China after a 12 hours flight. Now I must go through the customs to enter the boarder. There were several lines available for Chinese Citizens but only 2 lines for "Foreigners". Which made the line extremely long for anyone that doesn't have a Chinese Passport. It really reminded me of us as children of God, we are also foreigners in this world. Us too have to wait in a long line or given hard time in this world when we're foreigners and not going along with the rest of the world and be a part of their "Citizen". However, don't let that put you down because when you finally get to go back to your own homeland(heaven), you will see that it's a million times better than this place. Just like when I get back to Cali in 3 months....nothing here in this country is worth for me to stay here because Cali is way better!!! CALI FO LIFE!

Buckle up! It's time for take off!

After a never ending farewell from Jess, Edger, Big Mike, Willy, Smelissa, Chihuahua, and Baby Val....I was on my way off to the security check in. During the security check, I saw this cute old couple that got stopped and had to be further searched by the security....it sucked caz they were so old and could hardly move and they made them took off everything. Anywayz....I later found out that they were on the same flight and sitting next to me....which was surprising because I thought I was going to sit next to a mom with baby according to the lady that assigned my seat. They were such a cute old couple from mexico and going to China with a tour. You know how "There is always a reason for everything?" so yea I found out why I was seated next to them when the food came.....they were sooo old that they don't even have the strength to get the folding table out from the arm rest. The nice little lady didn't spoke much english so she thanked me with "Gracias!" isn't she the cutest??? I was so glad I had the chance to help them throughout the flight!

No "Goodbyes" just "See you soon"

This is my first blog and I want to dedicate it to my daughters and everyone that went to the airport with me. Thank you all so much for that, it really touched me and meant a lot to me. Like I've told Baby Val, "I won't say goodbye, but I will say see you soon!". I'm very excited about this trip and I ask for all of you to keep me in your prayers in the next 3 months that i'm here. I will try to keep in touch with you guys as much as possible but don't feel bad if I didn't get a chance to. Ok... I have to get back to work so bye for now....

p.s. As you all know i hate blogs and by posting here it is in no way am I accepting the "BLOGaddicts" but only to update my close ones with my trip here in China. So I will try to post as often as possible ABOUT my trip and nothing else.
